Sheqinah — Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction and Acceptance
1.1. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the
Sheqinah programme ("the Programme"), including all courses, memberships,
community spaces, downloadable materials, and related services delivered through our
platform.
1.2. The Programme is operated by Sheqinah ("we," "us," "our"), a business established
and operating from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
1.3. By creating an account, accessing any Programme content, or making any
purchase, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not register or
use the Programme.
1.4. We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be
communicated to registered members via email at least 14 days before taking effect.
Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Eligibility
2.1. The Programme is open to women aged 18 years and over. By registering, you
confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.
2.2. Certain memberships require additional eligibility criteria including but not limited to:
completion of prerequisite content, facilitator assessment, and informed consent. These
requirements are communicated before enrolment and are non-negotiable.
2.3. We reserve the right to decline or revoke access at our sole discretion where
eligibility criteria are not met or where continued participation poses a risk to you or
other members.
3. What Is Purchased3.1 Free Entry
Access to the introductory curriculum and associated downloadable materials. No
payment required. Account creation and email verification required. Access is
permanent and does not expire.
3.2 Paid Subscriptions
The Programme offers paid subscription memberships at different levels:
Basic subscription — Monthly subscription granting access to selected curriculum
content and community features. Priced as displayed at checkout.
Full subscription — Monthly or annual subscription granting access to the full
published curriculum, community, and Practice Library content as it unlocks
through curriculum completion. Priced as displayed at checkout.
Subscriptions provide access to Programme content for the duration of the active
subscription. Content access ceases when the subscription ends or is cancelled, except
for any downloadable materials already obtained.
3.3 Invitation-Only Memberships
The Programme may offer additional memberships by invitation only. These carry their
own pricing, prerequisites, and supplementary terms which are communicated directly
to eligible members before enrolment. Enrolment in any invitation-only membership
constitutes acceptance of any supplementary terms in addition to these general Terms.
3.4 General
All prices are displayed in US Dollars unless otherwise stated. Applicable taxes
(including VAT where required) are added at checkout. Prices may change; existing
subscribers are given at least 30 days' notice before any price increase applies to their
subscription.
4. Payment and Billing
4.1. Payments are processed through third-party payment processors (currently Stripe).By providing payment information, you authorise recurring charges for subscription
products at the interval and amount selected at checkout.
4.2. You are responsible for maintaining current and accurate payment information.
Failed payments may result in suspension of access until payment is resolved.
4.3. For invitation-only memberships with fixed-term pricing, payment terms are
communicated at enrolment.
5. Cancellation and Refunds
5.1 Monthly Subscription Cancellations
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by
contacting us at the email address listed in Section 15. Cancellation takes effect at the
end of the current billing period. You retain access to content until the end of the paid
period. No partial-month refunds are issued for cancellations mid-cycle.
5.2 Annual Subscription Refunds
If you purchased an annual subscription, you may request a pro-rata refund for the
unused portion within the first 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, no refund is available
for annual subscriptions, but you retain access for the full paid period.
5.3 Invitation-Only Memberships
Refund terms for invitation-only memberships are communicated at enrolment and form
part of the supplementary terms for that membership.
5.4 Cooling-Off Period
Where required by applicable law (including for EU-resident members under the EU
Consumer Rights Directive), you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14
days of the transaction without giving any reason. To exercise this right, contact us at
the email address in Section 15. If you have accessed or downloaded digital content
during the cooling-off period, you acknowledge that you may lose the right of withdrawal
to the extent permitted by law.5.5 Refund Process
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 14 business
days.
6. Programme Content and Intellectual Property
6.1. All Programme content — including but not limited to written curriculum, audio
recordings, video content, downloadable materials, community frameworks, practice
protocols, and branding — is the intellectual property of Sheqinah and is protected
under applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
6.2. Your subscription or enrolment grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-
transferable, revocable licence to access and use Programme content for your own
personal, non-commercial purposes.
6.3. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, sell, license, or create
derivative works from any Programme content without prior written consent.
6.4. Downloadable materials (e.g., guides and companion documents) may be shared
privately with individuals on a personal basis. They may not be posted publicly,
uploaded to other platforms, or used commercially.
7. Acceptable Use
7.1. You agree to use the Programme and its community spaces in accordance with the
following standards:
Treat all members and facilitators with respect and dignity.
Do not share, screenshot, or distribute any community content, member identities,
or private discussions outside the Programme.
Do not disclose the identity of any other member or the content of their community
contributions to anyone outside the Programme.
Do not use the Programme or community for solicitation, promotion of external
products or services, or recruitment.
Do not post content that is threatening, harassing, discriminatory, defamatory, orillegal.
Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
Do not attempt to access content or community spaces for which you are not
enrolled.
Where the Programme uses different community spaces for different membership
levels, participate in each space in accordance with its stated purpose and register.
Do not introduce content or terminology from one membership level into the
community space of another.
7.2. Violation of acceptable use standards may result in a warning, temporary
suspension, or permanent removal from the Programme at our discretion. In the case of
permanent removal for cause, no refund is issued for the current billing period.
8. Community and Confidentiality
8.1. The Programme includes community spaces where members may share personal
experiences, reflections, and practices. All community participation is subject to a strict
confidentiality expectation: what is shared in the community stays in the community.
8.2. You agree not to disclose the identity or personal disclosures of any other member
outside the Programme. This obligation continues after your membership ends.
8.3. We take confidentiality breaches seriously. A substantiated breach may result in
immediate removal from the Programme.
9. Nature of the Programme
9.1. The Programme is an educational programme in body sovereignty, embodiment,
and related practices. It is not therapy, medical treatment, clinical intervention, or a
substitute for professional medical, psychological, or psychiatric care.
9.2. Programme content may address topics including body awareness, nervous system
regulation, sensuality, sexuality, desire, and consent. By enrolling, you acknowledge that
you have been informed of the nature of the content and you choose to engage with this
material.9.3. If you are currently receiving treatment for a medical or psychological condition, you
are encouraged to consult your treating professional before participating in the
Programme.
9.4. You participate in all Programme activities at your own risk and accept full
responsibility for your own physical and psychological wellbeing during and after
participation.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1. To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, the Programme’s total liability to
you for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the
Programme is limited to the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months
preceding the claim.
10.2. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive
damages, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of data, emotional distress, or
personal injury arising from your participation in the Programme.
10.3. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury
caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UAE
law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sheqinah, its founder, facilitators,
contractors, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including
legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your use of the Programme, or
your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
12.1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the
United Arab Emirates.12.2. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Programme shall first be
addressed through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
12.3. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Dubai,
United Arab Emirates, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
12.4. For EU-resident members: nothing in this clause restricts your right to bring
proceedings in your country of residence where mandatory consumer protection law
requires this.
13. Termination
13.1. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Programme at any time if you
breach these Terms, fail to meet eligibility requirements, or engage in conduct that we
reasonably consider harmful to other members or the Programme.
13.2. Upon termination, your licence to access Programme content ceases. Termination
does not affect any rights or obligations accrued before the termination date.
13.3. You may terminate your membership at any time by cancelling your subscription
per Section 5 or by contacting us.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the
remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
